Call for ABRF Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Council Members
The ABRF Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council is looking for new members
As a new member, you would join a group of individuals committed to the construction of a diverse, inclusive and equitable culture within the ABRF community through the following:
- Development of recommendations for ABRF Executive Board consideration, including the drafting and editing of equitable policies
- Conduct of research, surveys, and other investigations to understand and determine a baseline for the ABRF community’s assessment of our current level of diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Development of metrics and benchmarks for evaluating ABRF’s success in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Proposal and scoping of programs for enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Recommendation of other actions that support ABRF’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and justice
ABRF DEI Council member responsibilities include:
- Participation in Council meetings (2 hours per month, plus time to review and prepare)
- Active engagement in Council initiatives by providing input and support
- Providing recommendations on how to improve initiatives
- Serving as an ambassador for ABRF’s DEIB initiatives
ABRF seeks active community members with the following characteristics:
- Demonstrated commitment to DEIB
- Familiarity with the development and implementation of DEIB initiatives
- Understanding of the barriers to DEIB
- Willingness to listen, learn, and engage in DEIB discussions
ABRF members and corporate partners interested in joining the ABRF DEIB Council may submit their interest to the DEIB Council via ABRF Executive Director Ken Schoppmann (ken.schoppmann@abrf.org).
